Re: Hiwin Notice
We are requesting a formal quotation for a 3-axis (XYZ) gantry system to be integrated into a precision workstation. The entire assembly must fit within a 20.0" x 20.0" (508mm x 508mm) footprint while maximizing stroke.
We have standardized on Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 (EtherCAT). For this reason, we wish to utilize a complete Hiwin EtherCAT Motion Package (Motors + Drives) to ensure native compatibility and support our 3µm error-mapping requirements.
Please quote the following Precision Grade (P) configuration:
1. Y-Axis (Base/Wall Mount)
Module: KK8610P-440A1 (440mm rail).
Motor: Hiwin EM1 or FR Series AC Servo (200W-400W, to be sized for 100 lb bonding force).
Drive: Hiwin D1-N EtherCAT Servo Drive.
Motor Interface: Side-Mounted / Folded Motor Adapter (Mandatory to stay within 20" footprint).
Scale Option: Please include adder for integrated Magnetic Linear Scale (0.5µm or 1.0µm resolution).
2. X-Axis (Bridge)
Module: KK8610P-440A1 (440mm rail).
Motor: Hiwin EM1 or FR Series AC Servo (200W-400W).
Drive: Hiwin D1-N EtherCAT Servo Drive.
Motor Interface: Side-Mounted / Folded Motor Adapter.
Scale Option: Please include adder for integrated Magnetic Linear Scale (0.5µm or 1.0µm resolution).
3. Z-Axis (Tool Head)
Module: KK5002P-200A1 (200mm rail, 2mm lead for high resolution).
Motor: Hiwin AC Servo with Integrated Electromagnetic Brake.
Drive: Hiwin D1-N EtherCAT Servo Drive.
Motor Interface: Straight NEMA or Metric flange.
4. Interconnecting Hardware & Accessories
Full set of G-Brackets for T-style gantry assembly.
Aluminum Covers and Bellows for all three axes.
Standard Limit Switch kits for each axis (Home, +Limit, -Limit).
Necessary motor and encoder cables (Length: 3 meters).
Engineering Data Requested:
3D STEP files showing the assembly with the folded motor mounts and D1-N drive dimensions.
ESI (EtherCAT Slave Information) files for the D1-N drives to verify TwinCAT 3 integration.
Confirmation of maximum total length for the Y-axis assembly to ensure zero overhang on the 20" table.

Dear Valued HIWIN Customer,
This email is to inform you that HIWIN is in the process of migrating to a new ERP System. We have been working on this for a long time to plan the data migration, process workflows, operational impacts etc. Our go live date is May 1st.
For anyone who has been through this before, it is a monumental task. We are fortunate to have some very skilled and experienced people on the team to manage the migration, but we all understand that there is risk of disruption to our business.
Consequently, we wish to forewarn you of this risk and urge you to help us in 2 ways:
- Notify us of any existing orders that you can authorize to ship before the end of April
- Talk to your Operations team to see if orders need to be placed now for shipment before the end of April.
Finally, we should inform you that all documents that you receive from HIWIN after May 1st will have a different look and feel. We do not want you to be concerned that they are malicious. Nearer the time we will share examples of these documents including Quotes, Order Confirmations and Invoices.
As always, HIWIN appreciates your business and hope that this notice helps continue our strong relationship.
