yes I believe so. I think we have one or two that run on monthly recurring payments. maybe we can consolidate all of them into an annual discounted recurring plan

I have checked and the shortest transit time is till 06/08/26. We can try moving it as a partial on a truck that's going on this route, but this kind of capacity is rare, and this would cost you more. Even if we're able to find it by tomorrow still, they're not going to make it till Friday as it's 2650 miles and 40 hours' drive.

I'd suggesting moving this as a LTL on the expedited rate. Let me know how you would like to proceed.

No huge deadline for the adapters. We have what we need for the next several weeks. Mid July would be a good target date for these. Super unfortunate that this package seemed to not be treated very well. I’ll see what we can do from the packaging side!

    Hi Garret,

Unfortunately, we have bad news regarding the returned adapters. They weren't packaged well, causing additional damage. We can't repair them and must remake them which means a longer lead time. What's your deadline for getting them back to you?

    Garrett,

Well, I'd like to make it right. If it's not urgent we can build a whole new adapter and swap it out but that would take a few weeks. This approach would prevent you from being short an adapter. Let me know what you think

    Hi Garrett,

Not good, but we'll fix them no problem. We have tool holders here and tested them. The only thing I can think of is that ours are on the lower end of the diameter tolerance and yours are on the upper end. Either way send them back and we'll open them up by 130um. Can you also spare one of your toolholders to ensure we are good before returning them to you?

The other item that is more of a concern is that the holes that the tools sit inside of are basically the EXACT size of the tool holders themselves. I can pick up the tools in and out okay, but I have to push (with some decent force) each of the tools into the holes to fully seat them on the holder. I compared with the previous order of the tooling jigs and the tools are much easier to put into the holes and need zero force to sit correctly.

I attached a picture of the measurements I took of the holes in slot 7 on both jigs. The new order of jigs is ~130um smaller which is likely causing the seating issue. We will have a high risk of bending, rotating, or otherwise damaging the tools so we are not comfortable using these as is.

If I were to send all the jigs back, would you be able to machine a slightly larger hole? I can send a jig from a previous order to you or send an empty tool holder for you to test yourself if that helps, or I can take additional measurements as needed. We will have a high risk of bending, rotating, or otherwise damaging the tools so we are not comfortable using these as is. I definitely already rotated one of the tools as I was attempting to pull it off of the jig by hand Let me know!

    Thanks!

    Hi Garrett,

Thanks for the update. You are correct that the set screws are adjustable to account for general tolerances of the toolbank assemblies within the machine. There are set screws for the left, right, and height adjustments. I'd suggest you dial in one and then match all the others; chances are they'll be very close. Let us know if you have any other questions.

I looked at a few loading jigs, and testing them had some issues. I just found that the screws on either end was obstructing the loading, but I can just twist them more to fit. Each of the jigs have them twisted and sticking out at different lengths though. Is there a specific length they should be? Or should I just size them to slide easily in and out of the tool holders?

Just want to make sure these screws are for any other reason than easy loading/aligning to the tool holder itself 😊. I’ll go through the rest of them either today or tomorrow and let you know if I encounter any more issues.

Once I verify the other jigs are good to go, I’ll send the adapters back and shoot over the tracking number for you.

    Hi Garrett,

Sorry about that. We do check them for flatness and vacuum seal so it would be best if you can ship them back for RCA and we'll fix it. Hope this doesn't delay your project.

Any issues with the Loading Jigs?

Would you like me to ship them back for you to take a look?

Thanks for the info. My fault on the partially engraved one, I was supposed to let you know but fell behind. We already have a replacement for that one in queue but I wanted to ship all 20 just in case you needed the full qty right away. Is this the same adapter you are having the issue with on the suction cup or is this a different one?

    Hi Chris/Turnpack,

I started opening up the box, and found an issue with one of the adapters:

As I slide the adapter into our tool, it stops here and does not allow us to slide it all the way to the vacuum port. The adapter itself seemed warped when placed on an optical table. I checked 5 more so far from the latest shipment and they all look good! Just this one is unable to slide in.  I attached a video of myself trying to push it it and it not going all the way in without me having to physically lift the adapter into place and have a high risk of “confetti-ing” components in waffle packs. Let me know if it doesn’t come through. I also uploaded into our FileXchange system for you to review. Let me know if anyone needs access to this:

One of the 5 that I looked at after this one is missing most of the writing at the bottom of the adapter itself. Not a huge deal as it’s just cosmetic to us, but did want to let you know about it:

I will go through all the rest tomorrow morning and let you know if I encounter any more like this.

Can I send this one back to you to root cause or any ideas how to fix up? I could try to bend it but unsure how brittle the adapter itself is or if I’ll make it worse.

    Thanks!

We have the adapters back from anodizing but I slightly underestimated the assembly time. We are wrapping up the assembly today and tomorrow will be for engraving and testing and then we'll ship them out tomorrow.

The toolholder jigs are complete and ready to go.

    Garrett,

We experienced a slight delay because a machine was down, but parts are currently at anodizing. We are expediting that process, and then we anticipate two days for post-anodizing assembly & engraving. We might be able to ship it out Saturday, worst case it'll be Monday. I'll keep you posted when the parts come back from anodizing and then I should be able to confirm actual ship date.

    Hi Garrett,

Making good progress. As of now it looks like we'll ship the order the week of 05/11. We had a question about the tool holder jigs. We would prefer to machine them on multiple sides but doing so would obscure them. Reason being is that the stock material has significant tolerancing, so facing all sides would ensure greater consistency. Any objections to that?

    Hi Garret,

Unfortunately, we have bad news regarding the returned adapters. They weren't packaged well, causing additional damage. We can't repair them and must remake them which means a longer lead time. What's your deadline for getting them back to you?

I went through the rest of the delivery and found 3 more that do not slide all the way into the tool (for a total of 4x). Physically they look similar, but may have some slight warpage issues causing these issues. Any ideas on how to fix this? I’m afraid of trying to bend them to fix the warpage. Would you like me to ship them back for you to take a look?

    Hi Garrett,

    Thanks

Yes. Example image below shows one side machined and the top not machined. If we machine all 4 sides they will all look like the side edge in the image below. Also, we did start with the adapters, once they are ready and in case the jigs are not I will let you know and we can do a partial shipment.

I include an older jig as well (labeled) so you can compare to that as well. I’ll try to get this over and shipped out tomorrow!

    Sweet!

Physically they look similar, but may have some slight warpage issues causing these issues. Any ideas on how to fix this? I’m afraid of trying to bend them to fix the warpage. Would you like me to ship them back for you to take a look?

    Hi Garrett,

    Thanks!

    Hi Garrett,

We have the adapters back from anodizing but I slightly underestimated the assembly time. We are wrapping up the assembly today and tomorrow will be for engraving and testing and then we'll ship them out tomorrow.

The toolholder jigs are complete and ready to go.

    Thanks

    Garrett,

Yes. Example image below shows one side machined and the top not machined. If we machine all 4 sides they will all look like the side edge in the image below. Also, we did start with the adapters, once they are ready and in case the jigs are not I will let you know and we can do a partial shipment.
