Yes, I am receiving your emails. I owe you an explanation and an apology.

I replied on Tuesday, July 21 confirming the shipment and install plan. I have since found that reply sitting in our own internal inbox - I hit reply on an internal copy of your message instead of the original, so it never left our system. That is on me. I also owe Rosa an answer from June 26 that I never sent, and I owe you the flight itinerary I promised. All of that is addressed below.

BUILD STATUS
The antistatic lid - the last outstanding hardware item - has been received and installed. The machine is complete. Remaining work is final functional testing before crating.

SCHEDULE
We are targeting shipment to WTS in El Paso by the end of this week, Friday, July 24. Being straight with you: there is a realistic chance it slips to Monday or Tuesday, July 27-28.
I am holding the week of July 27 to be on-site in Juarez for installation, commissioning, and operator training, with the week of August 3 as the fallback if the crate does not clear in time. I will send my flight itinerary as soon as the ship date is locked, and no later than Friday, July 24.

CUSTOMS DOCUMENTATION - ROSA
Rosa, on June 26 you asked for certificate of origin, value, and technical data sheet. That request went unanswered for far too long and I apologize. Attached:

• Certificate of Origin (USMCA / T-MEC certification format)
• Commercial invoice showing declared value
• D5L6 Technical Data Sheet

Two things I need back from you to complete the certification of origin:

1. Spectrum Control de Mexico's RFC and registered address, for the importer block
2. Confirmation of the 6-digit HS tariff classification your broker uses for this equipment

Please also tell me if your broker needs anything beyond these three documents. Since you noted clearance typically runs about two days with documents in hand, I want everything in your possession before the crate arrives at WTS rather than after.

The machine is 141 lbs and is a two-person lift, so no forklift is required once the crate is open.

Two asks so we can lock my on-site days precisely:

• Confirm WTS receiving hours and whether they need advance notice of delivery
• Once it crosses, tell me the date it lands in Juarez. If it clears faster than expected I will move my trip up rather than have the machine sit.

INSTALLATION AND TRAINING - WHAT WE NEED FROM YOUR SIDE

Federico, you asked about this on June 22 and I did not answer it properly. The attached site preparation sheet has the full detail. The essentials:

• Power: 110 V, 60 Hz, single phase, standard NEMA 5-15 outlet within reach of the rear panel. Your facility supply works as-is; no transformer or adapter is required. Please use a circuit separate from sensitive instrumentation, as the machine cycles motors frequently.
• Bench: solid, level, non-vibrating, rated 250 lbs or more
• Machine footprint: 24 in W x 22 in D x 14 in H
• Clear work area: roughly 30 in W x 24 in D x 26 in H, with room to rotate the machine for rear access
• ESD ground point at the bench, plus bench space for the particle-control vacuum unit
• In or adjacent to a microelectronics clean room; ambient at or below 40 C and 90 percent RH

No compressed air, nitrogen, or water is required - this is a dry process. No vent or exhaust either; the particle-control vacuum is a self-contained ULPA-filtered unit.

Plan on one to two days on site: uncrating and placement, power-up and commissioning, recipe setup on your parts, operator training on the new touchscreen interface, and basic maintenance and troubleshooting.

Please have ready:

- The operators and maintenance technicians who should attend, so we can schedule around your production
- Sample devices for process validation - at least two of each package type you intend to run

Please complete and return the site preparation sheet at your earliest convenience.

The machine is built and the new control system is installed. Two things remain: we're finishing commissioning of that control system — the motion tuning, recipe setup, and final functional testing on the actual machine — and one last hardware item, the antistatic lid, which installs last and is due in early next week. This control system is the new Beckhoff platform that replaces the obsolete design, and I won't ship until it runs as needed on your floor. We are close to wrapping up.

Because I've given your team enough moving ship dates, I commit to what I control directly and can prove: I will be on-site at your plant to finish installation, commission the machine, and train your operators myself.

I am booking travel today to be on-site the week of July 27. I'll forward my flight itinerary once ticketed so you can see it's firm. The machine docks out ahead of that, and I'll send the exact ship date the moment it's crated.

One ask so we can lock my exact on-site days together: since your team handles the El Paso-to-Juarez importation through WTS, can you confirm your typical clearance and cross time from the broker? If the machine clears earlier than expected, I'll move my trip up — I'd rather be there the week of July 20th or 13th.

I will finish this last stretch correctly and close it out in person.

Committed ship date to your WTS broker in El Paso: Friday, June 26, 2026.

The attached one-page schedule shows every workstream and milestone supporting that date. Quick summary of the path:

• The original X-stage drive motor is obsolete and the supplier's last-time-buy did not materialize. We have redesigned the motion control around Applied Motion drive motors and a Beckhoff industrial PC with touchscreen HMI. This permanently eliminates the obsolescence risk and adds two capabilities the original Midas design did not have: touchscreen operation and recipe management.
• Beckhoff hardware arrives in-house this week, which lets us develop the PLC, HMI, and recipe code on the bench in parallel with mechanical assembly at our build partner's shop. On-machine integration is therefore compressed to one week of motion tuning and commissioning.
• All other components have been received, are on order with confirmed dates, or are moving through machining and coating this week.

I am chasing four items today and will close them out in Friday's update:

• Applied Motion supplier ship date confirmation
• Antistatic lid PO placement and lead time
• Chicago Dial Indicator items (PO26121668) confirmed ETA
• Beckhoff arrival confirmation upon receipt this week

Loaner system: there is no cost to Spectrum. Turnpack covers freight both directions and any duty. If you'd like the loaner shipped this week to bridge the gap until 6/26, confirm and we'll proceed. If not, all hands stay on your machine.

Cadence going forward: written status from me every Friday morning until ship, covering parts received that week, build and test progress, and any schedule change the moment we see it — not after you ask.

The communication gaps on this build were on me. The technical path is solid and you'll see that reflected in the weekly updates starting this Friday.

You're right, and I owe you a straight answer rather than another general update.

I am not going to give you a ship date tonight that I can't stand behind. You will have one Friday morning, in writing, with the supporting milestones so you can hold us to it. Here is what I can confirm now:

- The X-stage drive motors used in the original Midas design are obsolete with no last-time-buy available. We have redesigned the motion control around Applied Motion motors/drives and a Beckhoff industrial PC with touchscreen HMI. This removes the obsolescence risk permanently and adds touchscreen operation and recipe management that the original Midas design did not have.
- Motors, drives, IPC and panel are all on order. Friday's update will include confirmed delivery dates from each supplier, the resulting ship date with float, and the build/test milestones in between.
- After Friday, you will receive a written status from me every Friday morning until the machine ships — parts received that week, build/test progress, and any schedule change the moment we see it, not after you ask.

Loaner: there is no cost to Spectrum. Turnpack covers freight both directions and any duty. If you want it shipped next week to bridge the gap, confirm and we'll proceed. If not, we'll put all hands on your machine.

The communication gaps on this build are on me. The technical path forward is sound and you'll see that reflected in the cadence starting Friday.

I didn't realize you wanted a loaner system but we started on preparing that go get it shipped to you early next week. I will keep you posted on this.

 

Regarding your machine we could not purchase more of the X-stage drive motors due to obsolescence even though the Sales Rep had originally indicated that we could make one last buy. We have been working to update the design and have placed orders for different motors that need integration. With the new design also includes a touchscreen and recipe management functionality which the current outdated version lacks.

Because this part is highly specialized, it cannot be sourced from an alternative vendor or replaced with a different component in a shorter timeframe.

We are currently addressing a supply chain issue related to the cutter motor on the D5L6 De-Lidder. Normally we keep these motors in stock, however an unusually high volume of machine orders recently depleted our inventory.

We are actively working with the supplier to secure the next delivery and determine the exact timing. At the moment we are still targeting the March 15th delivery date, but we are waiting on final confirmation from the supplier.

I expect to have a firm update for you by this Friday and will send it as soon as I receive confirmation.

Below is the high-level project schedule for planning purposes. This build is largely procurement-, machining-, and assembly-driven, with limited engineering activity focused on BOM verification and minor drawing updates only.

High-Level Project Schedule (Subject to Material Lead Times)

• Requirements Confirmation & BOM Validation:
  Final confirmation of scope, verification and cleanup of the existing BOM, and release for purchasing.
• Purchasing & Machining:
  Procurement of all purchased components and machining/fabrication of custom parts. Long-lead items will be tracked closely.
• Build & Wiring:
  Mechanical assembly of the machine and control panel build and wiring.
• Integration & Testing:
  Power-up, functional verification, and process testing.
• Documentation, Crating & Delivery:
  Final documentation package, crating, and shipment preparation.

Target Ship Date: March 15, 2026
