Re: [EXT] Re: Equipment Help

Noah,

Sounds like wafer camera home sensor issue. Did you already check the sensor in the standard trainer?

Thanks for the info guys.

When you try to home the machine does the wafer camera move up at all?

Hi Guys,

I’ll just pop in to say that the current error (different than the previous error when the camera was stuck all the way up) indicates that the trouble initializing the camera is “mechanical”.

Best,

David

Thank you!

First instance was a user trying to auto focus the wafer during teaching on Wednesday. The camera went up and didn’t stop till it reached limit. Error message that kept popping up was “Initialization of wafer camera failed”. In the log it was showing SmEsLiftSys and SmWcFocusSys get position errors and no origin defined. It enters e-stop after the initialization fails.

Ultimately, David was able to pull down a bit on the camera unit and then it rehomed. That was on Friday, but nobody used the tool to try actual operation (just homed it a few times).

Today someone tried to use the machine and it homed, did pickup and seemed fine, but during first build it also spit out the initialization failure. We have tried moving the unit and it doesn’t want to home consistently. Sometimes it homes once but usually it fails. The camera focus doesn’t jog consistently in the troubleshooter. Still seeing position errors but sometimes it’s a negative number, sometimes timeout, sometimes undefined. Always same “wafer camera failed” popup message

The fact it moves sometimes makes us think the motor might be ok, but now its so all over we aren’t sure. BESI says CAN board or sensor but without being able to troubleshoot it’s a real long time for CAN board lead time…

Best regards,

Noah Ekstrom

HI Noah,

I am at a customer today but I'll try to call you. In the meantime can you give me some more info on the error and the behavior?

Hi Chris,

This is Noah Ekstrom at Henkel. We're having some issues with our Datacon (you've helped with it in the past) and could use any urgent troubleshooting support you could provide.

We're getting a wafer camera error and need to figure out if it's a motor, sensor, or easy fix.
