Hi Jeff,
Attached is the quote for the split p-part bonding inserts for the 3 products for 1 machine. Let me know if you have any questions.
If you intend to move forward it would be best if you could send us boats and possibly some parts as well just to make sure clearance is not going to be an issue.

Hi Chris,
Sounds good. I like the option for magnets or bolts if needed.
Good point about the ID axis. On the current systems there are two indexes because of the length of boats. We have a single index at the main but I know it has always been close.
I will work on getting some parts to sent out to you. I might have some older PParts that aren’t used for production that can be sent, otherwise we would need a quick turnaround on the PParts but the boats and other parts could be held on for longer. I’ll try to get those out next week.
If you have some preliminary designs to show I’d be interested in jumping on another quick call just to see them or if it would help clear up any other issues.
Thanks and hope you have a great weekend!

Hi Jeff,
Yes, the plan is to use magnets for the top plates instead of bolts. If you want we can use both magnets and bolts, leaving you the option of whether to use the bolts. The 3 boat designs you provided (Boson, BS8X and Tura) should all operate within the envelope of the machine. One item we flagged is that the center to center distance from the first to the last pocket is just under 12" of travel. Depending on the machine configuration with an ID axis the main axis travel can be limited to 10". Can you confirm that there are no existing travel issues with the boat designs you have provided?
What would be very helpful is to have a physical sample of each boat and part, along with the design files. Ideally, you could send us one p-part set for 1-day so we can review the existing design and prevent surprises.
If it makes sense we could jump on another 30min call to confirm a few things and walk through the models you provided.

For the boson part we have 2 different board sizes (boats are the same), do you need to take a look at that board as well or we can copy the interface of the PPart we are using now?
If that all looks good I will probably go ahead and order. I’m thinking what we will need is:
1x ID Base
4x Main Base
4x Main insert – Boson
2x Main insert – Tura

Thanks for getting the samples ready to head to Chris!
As far as preliminary design, we generally can only really provide those after PO placement.
I think the concept will be similar to what we provided Matteo.

Thanks Jeff. Our typical process is: once we have the PO we complete the design work, conduct a design review with the customer, 3D print a stack for testing if warranted, and then machine all the parts. We want to ensure high confidence in our process before we start cutting metal.ChrisOn Fri, Jun 5, 2026 at 8:06 AM Galli, Jeff (US) <info@turnpack.com> wrote:Hi Chris,

If you intend to move forward it would be best if you could send us boats and possibly some parts as well just to make sure clearance is not going to be an issue.
