Zack,Thanks for the quote. A few more questions:- Repeat accuracy (0.02 mm). Is this figure axial return repeatability, or does it describe lateral play at the tool interface? This is the most important question for us β if it's axial it costs us nothing in placement, but if it's lateral it consumes our entire budget. We note the AGM-XYZ is listed at 0.03 mm, which suggests it scales with the number of compensated axes, but we'd like that confirmed.
- Breakaway force. The catalogue lists 3 N, but only under the AGM-XYZ columns β the AGM-Z 031 cell is blank. What is the breakaway/stiction figure for the Z-only unit? Force hysteresis directly limits how precisely we can set contact force.
- Spring reduction. The listed spring force is 28/50 N, but our target is 20 N, so we need to reduce it.
- How many springs can be removed, and in what increments?
- What are the resulting min/max force and spring rate for each configuration?
- Is symmetric removal possible? An asymmetric spring set would introduce a lateral moment during compression, which we can't tolerate.
- Is a lower-force spring variant available from the factory?
- Lateral and tilt stiffness at low load. The catalogue deflection diagram is plotted for moments of 1β3 NΒ·m. Our measured operating loads are far smaller β Fx/Fy under 1 N and Mx/My of 0.01β0.03 NΒ·m. Do you have stiffness or deflection data in that range, or a figure for lateral stiffness at the tool flange? We're wary of extrapolating off the bottom of the published curve.
- Dimensions. Please confirm from the drawing: 42 mm installed height (extended) and 65 Γ 65 mm footprint for the 031.
- Sensing. Part numbers for the magnetic and inductive proximity switch options, and what states they detect.

- Repeat accuracy (0.02 mm). Is this figure axial return repeatability, or does it describe lateral play at the tool interface? This is the most important question for us β if it's axial it costs us nothing in placement, but if it's lateral it consumes our entire budget. We note the AGM-XYZ is listed at 0.03 mm, which suggests it scales with the number of compensated axes, but we'd like that confirmed.
- Breakaway force. The catalogue lists 3 N, but only under the AGM-XYZ columns β the AGM-Z 031 cell is blank. What is the breakaway/stiction figure for the Z-only unit? Force hysteresis directly limits how precisely we can set contact force.
- Spring reduction. The listed spring force is 28/50 N, but our target is 20 N, so we need to reduce it.
- How many springs can be removed, and in what increments?
- What are the resulting min/max force and spring rate for each configuration?
- Is symmetric removal possible? An asymmetric spring set would introduce a lateral moment during compression, which we can't tolerate.
- Is a lower-force spring variant available from the factory?
- Lateral and tilt stiffness at low load. The catalogue deflection diagram is plotted for moments of 1β3 NΒ·m. Our measured operating loads are far smaller β Fx/Fy under 1 N and Mx/My of 0.01β0.03 NΒ·m. Do you have stiffness or deflection data in that range, or a figure for lateral stiffness at the tool flange? We're wary of extrapolating off the bottom of the published curve.
- Dimensions. Please confirm from the drawing: 42 mm installed height (extended) and 65 Γ 65 mm footprint for the 031.
- Sensing. Part numbers for the magnetic and inductive proximity switch options, and what states they detect.

- The breakaway force listed in the catalog is for the x and y directing and the breakaway force for the Z direction is wrapped into the spring force.
- With an Fx under 1 N and Mx/My under .01Nm, the deflection is expected to be very low, but we do not have documentation of this to give an exact number.

Thanks for the quote. A few more questions:
- Repeat accuracy (0.02 mm). Is this figure axial return repeatability, or does it describe lateral play at the tool interface? This is the most important question for us β if it's axial it costs us nothing in placement, but if it's lateral it consumes our entire budget. We note the AGM-XYZ is listed at 0.03 mm, which suggests it scales with the number of compensated axes, but we'd like that confirmed.
- Breakaway force. The catalogue lists 3 N, but only under the AGM-XYZ columns β the AGM-Z 031 cell is blank. What is the breakaway/stiction figure for the Z-only unit? Force hysteresis directly limits how precisely we can set contact force.
- Spring reduction. The listed spring force is 28/50 N, but our target is 20 N, so we need to reduce it.
- How many springs can be removed, and in what increments?
- What are the resulting min/max force and spring rate for each configuration?
- Is symmetric removal possible? An asymmetric spring set would introduce a lateral moment during compression, which we can't tolerate.
- Is a lower-force spring variant available from the factory?
- Lateral and tilt stiffness at low load. The catalogue deflection diagram is plotted for moments of 1β3 NΒ·m. Our measured operating loads are far smaller β Fx/Fy under 1 N and Mx/My of 0.01β0.03 NΒ·m. Do you have stiffness or deflection data in that range, or a figure for lateral stiffness at the tool flange? We're wary of extrapolating off the bottom of the published curve.
- Dimensions. Please confirm from the drawing: 42 mm installed height (extended) and 65 Γ 65 mm footprint for the 031.
- Sensing. Part numbers for the magnetic and inductive proximity switch options, and what states they detect.
