Standardized Supplier‑Quality Language
|
6801 Rockledge Drive, Bethesda, MD 20817
TO: Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) Suppliers
SUBJECT: Standardized Supplier‑Quality Language
Dear Valued Lockheed Martin Supplier,
Lockheed Martin is accelerating the adoption of a standardized supplier-quality language across all future Purchase Orders (POs). This change is part of our 1LMX Digital Transformation initiative and is designed to simplify the way we communicate requirements to our supply base.
What to Expect • Uniform requirement IDs – All standard requirements will start with “MFC‑”, "CST-", and "1LM-" followed by two letters and three numbers (e.g., 1LM‑SQ‑001). • Simplified language – Requirement names and descriptions will be consistent across business areas. • Single-point document requests – Documents such as Certificates of Conformance (CoC) will be requested using one standardized requirement rather than multiple variations. These updates will reduce confusion, improve clarity and increase overall efficiency in our interactions.
Effective June 25, 2026, the new standard supplier-quality language will be applied exclusively to New Line items added to existing Purchase Orders or New Purchase Orders issued on or after that date. All POs generated before June 25, 2026, will retain their existing requirement IDs and wording, so no retroactive revisions are required.
Examples of the upcoming language changes can be viewed in the following files:

We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to a smoother, more collaborative partnership.
